The tiger is regarded as a symbol of power and strength in Chinese culture, and is honored as the king of beasts. Therefore, the tiger is a symbol of heroes, rights, avoiding evil spirits, and auspiciousness in the Chinese culture. People use tiger's pictures and texts to symbolize auspicious meaning and pray for blessings. In Taiwanese folk customs, a child wears a tiger hat and tiger shoes when he is one year old, which means courage and avoiding evil spirits.

On the totem, the tiger's posture is also divided into uphill tiger and downhill tiger. Although they are all tigers, their demeanor and temperament are different from the meaning they represent. The downhill tiger is ferocious and capable and has an invincible momentum.
