Maki-e is a pattern decoration that drawn with gold, silver, color powder and other materials on the barrel. Hira maki-e requires at least 24 processes, which is a traditional Japanese craftsmanship. First draw the outline of lines, and then use the viscosity of the lacquer to fill on the barrel with silver or gold powder according to the desired pattern, this technique is called Maki-e. The production must be done by hand, machinery and equipment cannot be borrowed, so Maki-e is the perfect presentation of inspiration and skills.
