Cellulose Acetate refers to a thermoplastic resin obtained by esterification with acetic acid as a solvent under the action of a catalyst. Cellulose Acetate is different from Celluloid. Acetate has been around from 1930 to 1940 ，It is made from renewable wood pulp or cotton linter pulp. The solvent used, acetone, is non-toxic and has almost no organic volatiles. It is a green solvent. and is widely used in making pen barrel. It is also very popular, although it is not as popular as celluloid.
Although the Cellulose Acetate material is more stable than celluloid, it still has problems such as high temperature polishing and pattern dissolution and deformation during the manufacturing process, and even special equipment must be polished in water.
