In the industrial history of Detroit, it is renowned as a major hub for automobile manufacturing. Detroit Agate, or "Fordite," is a beautiful byproduct of this development. Fordite is formed during the process of painting cars in automotive factories, where paint overspray collects on surfaces around the manufacturing area. Over successive layers and exposure to high temperatures, these layers of paint build up, resulting in a large, hardened, and colorful piece known as "Detroit Agate.
This design, crafted from Detroit agate for the pen barrel, maintains the original carved middle ring and cushion closure design. It is complemented by a pen clip featuring the unique texture of Mokume Gane, harmonizing with the beautiful fiberglass texture, creating a distinctive and stylish appearance.
