Flowing arabesques, blossoms in radiant color.

Inspired by the traditional Eastern arabesque motif, this design features graceful vines that wind elegantly across the pen body. At times extending freely, at times intertwining, they flow like ribbons carried by the wind, naturally unifying the entire composition. Delicate maki-e gold detailing traces each curve with refinement, bringing lightness and vitality to every line while creating a sense of movement across the deep black lacquer.

The most captivating element of this piece lies in its raden inlay. Carefully selected shells reveal a rich spectrum of natural iridescence, blending shades of blue-green, violet-gold, pink, and silver-white throughout the flowers and foliage. As the angle of light changes, the colors continually shift and shimmer—at times reminiscent of morning dew catching the sunlight, at others like a field of stars against the night sky. Even at rest, the pen remains full of depth, movement, and visual intrigue.

Peonies are placed among the flowing arabesques, adding an elegant touch of splendor to the composition. The gold lines of maki-e, the radiant colors of raden, and the profound depth of black lacquer complement one another beautifully, creating a scene that is rich yet balanced, ornate yet refined.
