The crane stands among a profusion of blossoms, as flowers emerge in rhythm with the passage of time. Its form unfolds gracefully as it moves through wild floral growth, composed and steady in presence; elongated wings echo the flowing vines, creating a balance between stillness and motion. Scattered points of light drift across the surface, like traces of time in motion, lending the overall composition a profound sense of depth.

This piece is crafted using eggshell inlay combined with raised maki-e. Crushed eggshell fragments are meticulously set within the crane and surrounding florals, creating a soft and refined iridescent layering. Over this, layers of raised maki-e are applied, building dimensional relief in the petals, branches, and finer details. As the pen turns, the blossoms unfold gradually across the surface, interweaving with the crane’s form to create a layered visual rhythm that progresses with each shift in light
