【CYPRESS – Crimson Horse in the Clouds | Vacuum Filling System】

A crimson horse charges through the clouds, moving as if riding upon light. This piece is inspired by the image of a galloping steed, with a deep red undertone that conveys both intensity and composure. Golden lines trace the horse’s body and mane, while clouds and scattered star-like details create a sense of swift forward motion. The horse is not only the central motif of the design, but also a symbol of strength, speed, and the will to keep moving forward.

This piece is one of the designs from CYPRESS’s “LumaFlow” craft series. The barrel is built on a brass tube base, finished with fine machine-engraved patterning, then layered with twenty coats of clear lacquer and repeatedly polished. As a result, the image does not simply rest on the surface; instead, it gains greater visual depth through the refraction of light and the reflection within the lacquer layers. As the barrel turns, the crimson undertone, golden lines, and cloud-like reflections shift subtly with the angle of light, giving the galloping horse an even stronger sense of movement.

The barrel is equipped with a Vacuum Filling System. Through pressure conversion, the filling process is stable and complete, allowing ink to flow naturally into the reservoir. During writing, the ink flow remains continuous and smooth—unhurried yet steady, like a fine horse in motion: its strength held within, its momentum sustained.
